Hats for Hope features a silent auction of approximately 200 new, designer and gently worn Derby hats. In addition, there are also 40-50 “non-hat” packages for auction. In 2009, 600 people enjoyed Hats for Hope. Many guests have attended multiple times, turning the annual event into a pre-Derby hat selecting tradition. Friends of Rob Gash Golf Scramble
The “Friends of Rob Gash” Golf Scramble will be held on May 22, 2010 at Eagle Creek Golf Course in LaGrange, KY along with a silent auction immediately following. The purpose of this event is to raise funds to help a local family offset some of their medical expenses, as well as help provide them an opportunity to go to Disney World as a family to renew their vows with their children.
Rob is stage 4 metastatic Melanoma and has been battling cancer for 6 years. While he has enjoyed some periods of time where the cancer seems to sleep for a while, it has continued to come back stronger and stronger. Rob has been treated at James Graham Brown Cancer Center, U of L and most recently visited the National Institute of Health, and after being advised that there was nothing left that could be done and that options had run out, he and the family are living each day full of faith and hope.
We hope that you can support us by either participating in the golf scramble or by donating items towards a silent auction that will be help immediately following the scramble – or both! We are looking for such items as:
* Gift Cards
* Vacation Package
* Round of Golf
* Concert or Theater Tickets
* Tickets to Sporting Events
* Churchill Downs Tickets
* Items made by your company supporting the event
Find out more or offer donated items to kim.zoeller@insightbb.com.
