Strikes for Strokes

You’re invited to the 1st Annual Strikes for Strokes fundraiser in honor of Coral Ehret. It’s set for March 6th, 6 to 10pm at Rose Bowl, 2217 Goldsmith Lane. Coral suffered a severe stroke on September 4, 2009 after falling and hitting her head earlier that day. She initially lost all speech, use of her right arm and some of her right leg. After months of extensive therapy, one would hardly know that something so tragic happened just a short time ago. While Coral still has a ways to go for a full recovery, her parents are still very hopeful that it will happen.

This is to raise awareness that childhood strokes do exist even without a pre-existing medical condition. Only 6 out of 100,000 children will have a stroke and of that 6, the majority happen during or just after childbirth.

Each person must have a minimum of $50.00 in sponsorship. This includes 3 games and shoes. Maximum 6 bowlers per lane. This is an ALL ages event. Bumper Bowling available for younger participants. There will be 2 bowling "flights". The first flight is from 6-8pm, and the second flight will be from 8:30-10:30pm. Please specify which time you would like to bowl.

This will be a first come first serve event. Please make sure you pre-register to guarantee a lane. Walk-ups will be allowed if additional lanes are available.

The “Friends of Rob Gash” Golf Scramble will be held on May 22, 2010 at Eagle Creek Golf Course in LaGrange, KY along with a silent auction immediately following.  The purpose of this event is to raise funds to help a local family offset some of their medical expenses, as well as help provide them an opportunity to go to Disney World as a family to renew their vows with their children.

Rob is stage 4 metastatic Melanoma and has been battling cancer for 6 years.  While he has enjoyed some periods of time where the cancer seems to sleep for a while, it has continued to come back stronger and stronger.  Rob has been treated at James Graham Brown Cancer Center, U of L and most recently visited the National Institute of Health, and after being advised that there was nothing left that could be done and that options had run out, he and the family are living each day full of faith and hope.

We hope that you can support us by either participating in the golf scramble or by donating items towards a silent auction that will be help immediately following the scramble – or both! We are looking for such items as:
