Kicked off the Kosair Radiothon this morning...always an emotional rollercoaster! This year, it's tough because we're all recovering financially from Christmas, then the Haiti earthquake happened, and now we're hitting you up to help sick kids at Kosair! It feels like a lot, but the kids at Kosair are a continuous need. There are 191 kids currently getting treatment there...85 kids are in the NICU!! 44 kids will get surgery EACH DAY. Just $10 a month makes a huge difference! Hearing the stories this morning from different families who have spent time at Kosair really make you stop and think how lucky you are that you haven't been in their shoes. But it also makes you realize you COULD be down the road or know someone that is. We bought 5 chemo chairs this morning at $1500 apiece, 2 syringe pumps at $2500 apiece and got a Miracle Maker for the 35 kids in the PICU! That's pretty cool to know exactly what your money is going toward.
