Candice Glover was crowned the new American Idol on Thursday after defeating country singer Kree Harrison. The booming 23-year-old R&B vocalist from St. Helena Island, S.C., looked stunned when Ryan Seacrest announced she bested the soulful 22-year-old country singer Harrison from Woodville, Texas.
The Office has closed shop. The NBC workplace comedy aired its finale Thursday to end an eight-year run. As expected, office manager Dwight wed tempestuous co-worker Angela, with whom he previously shared a secret affair. He had abruptly proposed to her on last week's episode. Dancer Wade Robson stopped by the Today show yesterday to talk about his claims of sexual abuse against Michael Jackson. "This is not a case of repressed memory," Robson told Matt Lauer. "I never forgot one moment of what Michael did to me, but I was psychologically and emotionally completely unable and unwilling to understand that it was sexual abuse." The lawyer for Jackson's estate called the accusations "outrageous and sad" in a statement. "Mr. Robson has adamantly denied under oath and in numerous interviews over the past 20 years that Michael Jackson ever did anything inappropriate to him," Jackson estate attorney Howard Weitzman said. "He now wants us to believe that he committed perjury at least twice and has been lying to anyone and everyone about Mr. Jackson since the early '90s so he can file a claim for money." Hollywood's most confusing relationship has hit another high as Selena Gomez was spotted leaving Justin Bieber's house earlier this week, the same day they were also spotted leaving a club together. You'll recall that Selena said just last week she was available and looking. David Beckham is retiring from soccer after this season, ending a career in which he became a global superstar since starting his career at Manchester United. The 38-year-old Englishman recently won a league title in a fourth country with Paris Saint-Germain. He said in a statement Friday he is "thankful to PSG for giving me the opportunity to continue but I feel now is the right time to finish my career, playing at the highest level." Beckham has two games left this season with PSG. He also played for Real Madrid and the Los Angeles Galaxy, winning titles with both those clubs as well as with United.
RADAR Online claims Kanye West plans to tour after Kim Kardashian gives birth. A source says, “Needless to say, Kim is very unhappy that Kanye won’t be around as much because of his work. Even if she flew on a private jet with the baby to see Kanye, it would be impossible for mother and baby to be on the road with him. Kim wants to breast feed for at least the first six months. The baby needs to be on a schedule, and that is hard when crossing time lines. Kim just feels like she can’t win. She feels that both of their work schedules are going to prevent them from spending quality time together after the baby is born.”
